Black Cardamom is also called Badi Elaichi or Kali Elaichi.
The elaichi is dark brown/black in color and has a tough, dried, wrinkly skin. Black cardamom is full of antioxidants, vitamin C and potassium. Hence, regular consumption of the spice can keep ones internal system free from toxic materials, thereby improving the circulation of blood throughout the skin surface and keeping it healthy.
It is mostly used as whole and almost always fried in a little oil to cause it to fully release its flavors and aroma.
